This is the refurbished house pictured on the previous page. According to Teryl Watkins, President of WLCAC, the purpose of this project has been to stabilize the community by attracting people who would take pride in their neighborhood and serve as positive role models to others in the area.
Other houses and apartment complexes moved from the Corridor were also renovated and made available throughout South Central to low income residents. Eventually, many of these people will also be given the opportunity to become home owners.
