February 24, 1947. Original newspaper caption: “AND SHE ESCAPES DEATH. The dotted arrow shows where Dorothy Gedda, 40, who escaped from a mental sanitarium, plunged from the College street overpass onto the Figueroa speedway today. She escaped death but received very critical injuries.”
