In Our Path began as a very private response to home and environment, but took on broader social meaning after I showed this photograph to Esther Keith (who, along with her husband, filed the injunction to stop freeway construction). She said she had heard that this building's owner, Mrs. Sorkness, had committed suicide after she was required to sell her home.

Excellent work! I used to live but a few miles away from this site (the Century Freeway , et al.) and would watch its degradation. The 1984 movie "Suburbia" was filmed in these neighbourhoods (West of I-605).
These superb images truly capture the essence of that project's negative side; the choice of black and white film is a bold statement in itself!
The final image of the 1982-1989 series is the most devastating to me, being that I'm an animal lover. However, it isn't conversely offensive to me; it's a fact of life all there in black and white .
Thanks again! Kudos to you!
