In 1982 these houses (and those in the next three photographs) sat on a three acre lot in South Central L.A. where they were moved from Downey by Ted Watkins of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC). At the time I made these photographs, they had been sitting in this location for three to four years while lots were being prepared for them. The new development has now come to be known as King Triangle. Once the houses were relocated and refurbished, they were rented to moderate income families on a long-term lease. After 20 years home owners will be given the deed to their homes.
